Downloads
On this page there is a selection of articles, books and magazine volumes which can be freely downloaded. Most are in PDF format and will require Adobe Reader to view them. Simply click on the link to download. The pictures in all volumes prior to 2012 of the Friendly Companion Magazine are set to low resolution to reduce the size of the files.
Manuscript Sermons
In collaboration with the Gospel Standard Library, a project has been started to scan several hundred manuscript sermons owned by the Library of ministers who have now passed away, trusting that these might be of help and profit to others. It is hoped to eventually put all the sermons on this web site for downloading. Click here to go to the sermons page or select the link to the left of this page.

Gospel Standard Magazine
Files are up to 10 Mb each.
These PDF files do not contain the magazine wrappers. If you would like the versions with wrappers, please contact us using the form on the

Friendly Companion Magazine
If you own a Gospel Standard DVD (1835-2008 or later) and you have copied the files to your computer, or you own a GS magazines USB stick, you can update the installation to include the latest corrections and the 2009 to 2022 GS magazines by downloading magazines (see links above) and the four files below.

Perception Updates
If you own a GS magazines USB stick, you can update the installation to include all Perception magazines from 2009 - 2022 by downloading the relevant magazines (see above) and the updated 'Index for 2009-2023' - see link below.
NB. There is now a front page to be downloaded for Perception (in order to be consistent with the other magazines). If the index does not link successfully to your older magazine annuals then please download those earlier magazine files again.

Gospel Standard Publications retain the copyright of this version of the hymnbook, but give permission for this to be used for private use or in hymnsheets, where the copyright of an individual hymn is not held by a third party. It may not be used for conversion of the hymnbook to be published in any other printed or electronic format.
