William Gadsby

William Gadsby (1773-1844) for 38 years was pastor of the Strict Baptist church at Manchester and a well-known preacher in his day. With his son John he launched in 1835 the Gospel Standard magazine and was its first editor. Included in this edition of Gadsby's sermons is a short biography by B.A. Ramsbottom editor of the Gospel Standard since 1971.
